The best way to get acquainted with Dresden is this 2-hour walk through the iconic squares of the city's historic centre with a local, certified guide!

We offer premium, professional group tours for discerning travelers who value quality. We keep our group sizes small so that participation is stress free and the experience feels personal. During the walking tour you will learn about the many layers of Dresden's history through medieval, Renaissance and baroque times, its fate during WW2, and the story of the rebuilding. Human stories, architecture, and iconography are all covered in this tour: You will see the iconic squares and buildings that line them. For example the Saxon State Opera House, The Dresden Zwinger, the Royal Palace, the Procession of Princes, The Frauenkirche, and the Catholic Cathedral. Last but not least you will learn about the Frauenkirche, the symbol of Dresden's rise from the ashes and the symbol of reconciliation.

Though the tour doesn't go inside any of these buildings, the information shared by your guide will help you decide what you'd like to cover on your own later.

Your guide will be waiting for you in the middle of the square, next to the statue of King Friedrich August seated on his throne (not standing and not on a horse!).   • Accessibility:Most of the tour is wheelchair accessible. The cobblestones may be difficult to navigate for manual wheelchairs

  • Know in advance:The tour takes place in every weather condition, so please look up the temperature/weather for the day and dress accordingly

  • The distances are not long, but there is a fair amount of standing while the guide explains the point of interest

  • Remember to bring:Comfortable shoes as the streets are cobbled
