Enter the windmills and learn how products were fabricated 150-200 years ago! Continue your tour of the village visiting a wooden shoes workshop and a cheese factory.

Head to Monnickendam, a historic former fishing town dating back to 1350. The town was once a wealthy city and one of the most important ports in Holland, while today it is a protected heritage site. Alternatively, enjoy a visit to Edam, the picturesque cheese village. Take a stroll through the cozy historic center, walk across the old drawbridges and see the lock that saves the town from flooding!

After Volendam, enjoy a 25 minutes drive to Marken Island and then spend some time exploring its quiet streets.
