Product Info

🌸 Experience the Cherry Blossoms of Mt. Yoshino
In spring, the cherry blossoms of Mt. Yoshino begin their ascent from the foot of the mountain to the peaks, painting the entire landscape in breathtaking colors.
This scenery has been cherished and immortalized in poetry by many famous poets since ancient times, and it continues to captivate visitors today!
The mountain is home to approximately 30,000 trees, primarily the native Shiroyamazakura (white wild cherry).
🌟The mountain is divided into four distinct areas and blooming season (Reference):
Shimo Senbon (Lower Area): Around the Yoshino-gu Shrine.
: Late March – Early April
Naka Senbon (Middle Area): Around Nyoirin-ji Temple.
:Early April – Mid-April
Kami Senbon (Upper Area): Near Yoshino Mikumari Shrine.
:Early April – Mid-April
Oku Senbon (Inner Area): Near Saigyo-an Hermitage.
:Mid-April – Late April

< Kami Senbon (Upper Area) >
Sitting at an elevation of approximately 370m to 600m, this area features steep slopes but rewards you with unrivaled panoramic views.
It is the perfect spot to take in the grand scale of Yoshino's cherry blossoms.
👀✨Don't Miss: The view from Hanayagura Observatory is a must-see!
★ World Heritage: Yoshino Mikumari Shrine
Dedicated to Ame-no-Mikumari, the deity of water.
Over time, the name "Mikumari" became associated with "Mikomori" (child-rearing), leading the shrine to be revered as a protector of fertility and children.
The current structures were rebuilt by Toyotomi Hideyori and represent the elegant architecture of the Momoyama period.
<Naka Senbon (Middle Area) >
★ World Heritage: Kinpusen-ji Temple (Zao-do Hall)
Standing at approximately 34 meters high with a traditional cypress-bark roof, Zao-do is the second largest wooden structure in Japan, after Nara’s Great Buddha Hall. It houses three massive, 7-meter-tall statues of Zao Gongen, a powerful Buddhist deity.
★ World Heritage: Yoshimizu Shrine
Originally a high-ranking Buddhist monastery, it became a shrine during the Meiji era. It is famous for its rich history, having served as a hiding place for Minamoto no Yoshitsune, the temporary palace for Emperor Go-Daigo, and the headquarters for Toyotomi Hideyoshi's legendary cherry blossom viewing parties.
<Shimo Senbon (Lower Area) >
The Shimo Senbon area (elevation approx. 230m to 350m) is the gateway to the mountain.
Top Spots: We highly recommend the views from the Shimo Senbon Observatory and the Onodachi-ato viewpoint to start your journey through the pink-tinted slopes.
