  • <STEP 1> Let's start fishing for Gurukun!
  • Upon arriving at the fishing spot, we'll start by fishing for "Gurukun," the prefectural fish of Okinawa Prefecture. Gurukun are caught using a rig called "Sabiki." This rig has several small hooks attached to the bottom of a basket, and krill bait is placed inside the basket and dropped into the sea. When you jerk the rod to scatter the bait, a school of Gurukun will gather. The Gurukun, attracted by the bait, will bite the hooks scattered along with the krill, and that's how you catch them. Even beginners can easily catch them! Don't worry, the captain will give you a clear explanation!
  • <STEP 2> Try live bait fishing!
  • Once you've caught a good number of Gurukun, it's time to aim for a big one! The method is very simple: put the Gurukun you've caught on a large hook and drop it back into the sea. Reel it in a few times from the seabed and then just wait. When a big one comes close, the Gurukun will start to thrash around. You'll feel the vibrations on your rod. When the rod bends sharply, it's a sign that a big one has taken the Gurukun! Set the hook and then just reel it in! It's sure to be an exciting moment.
  • <STEP 3> Transform it into dinner!
  • We have partnered with a popular kappo izakaya (traditional Japanese restaurant and pub) in Misaki-cho, so you can have the fish you catch cooked and served to you! If you would like to do so, please write "I would like to make a reservation at the izakaya" in the comments section when making your reservation! Depending on the reservation situation, we may not be able to accommodate you, in which case we can deliver the fish to your home! *Shipping costs will be borne by the customer. *If you have the fish you caught cooked at the izakaya, there will be a cooking fee (market price).
