Donghwasa Temple is a historic ancient temple of the Silla Dynasty situated in the Donghak-dong valley, where the Waterfall Valley, Bindaegol, and Susutgol valleys of Palgongsan Mountain converge on either side. It is the head temple of the 9th District of the Korean Buddhist Jogye Order. It was founded by Geukdan in 493 (the 15th year of King Soji) and was named Yugasa.
