— What You Can Expect —
The Huon Valley is a must-see destination in Tasmania. Historically, it was the centre of Tasmania's apple industry and has recently experienced a resurgence with the growth of the cider industry. During the tour, we will visit two popular cider brewers and a gin and vodka distiller.
Our adventure begins with a trip driving up the winding roads to the majestic Mt. Wellington/Kunanyi. From there, you will enjoy breathtaking views overlooking Southeast Tasmania, followed by a scenic journey through the stunning landscapes of the Huon Valley.
Nestled in a picturesque location, Willie Smith’s Apple Shed offers a captivating journey into Tasmania's apple heritage. Here, you can indulge in an Apple Pie and cider-tasting experience and gain insights into the art of cider-making. The tranquil surroundings and the rich history of the orchard create an immersive and enriching visit for all apple enthusiasts.
At The Honey Pot located in the pristine Huon Valley, you will have the opportunity to taste and learn about the Tasmanian honey industry. You can sample raw natural honey varieties, including Leatherwood, Manuka, Prickly Box, and Bush.
Next, we will visit Pagan Cider in Cygnet where you can sample ciders in an intimate tasting room, including ciders not available anywhere else on Earth. The visit will be accompanied by lunch, offering a selection of wraps and salad rolls.
On our return journey, we will travel along the D’Entrecasteaux Channel to Grandvewe Cheese, where we can sample gins, vodkas, and cheese with a fantastic ocean view and rolling hills. We will then travel through the town of Kettering and back into Hobart.
The tour usually departs by 8:30 am from Hobart and returns around 4 pm.
