— What You Can Expect —

On this tour, you'll get away from the crowds of tourists and see the island's busy city, Denpasar, at night in the best way possible. Visit Denpasar, Bali's center and largest city, and learn about its culture at the same time. Make sure you're hungry for this one!

Your experienced foodie guide will pick you up at your hotel and take you to Kreneng, a popular place known for its night market where all the locals go to get the best authentic food in town. Stop at five different places to try some of the best food on the island, like Babi Guling (suckling pig), soto ayam (chicken soup), satay, rice cake, and local treats and snacks like Martabak, Jaja Bali, and deliciously juicy tropical fruits.

Here are some treats we suggest you try at the night market:

  • Babi guling: The Indonesian version of roast suckling pig and one of Bali's most famous dish. It's slathered with a spicy paste and roasted to a wonderful crisp
  • Satay: Known as "sate" in Indonesia, this is skewered meat that is cooked to perfection and served with a delicious peanut sauce
  • Bakso soup: Bakso soup is a real comfort food in Indonesia. A delicious beef soup with noodles, veggies, and meatballs on top. Meat, pork, chicken, or even fish can be used to make the meatballs
  • Nasi campur: "Campur" means "mix". To put it simply, nasi campur is a combination of everything. It's like a small feast on a plate. You can expect a scoop of white rice and generous amounts of side dishes like sate, fried tempeh, beef rendang, fried chicken, and veggies
  • Ayam penyet : This Indonesian signature fried chicken is incredibly hot and not for the faint of heart. If you think your taste buds can handle it, you're in for a fiery experience
  • Tipat cantok: A mix of steamed veggies like long beans, water lilies, and bean sprouts served with rice cake and peanut sauce
  • Serombota : A mix of boiled veggies like water lily, spinach, bean sprouts, long beans, and eggplant. It is fresh and healthy. The mix is topped with chopped coconut, spices, and chili sauce, which makes it a tasty, spicy snack

In the late afternnon, the smells of cooking Balinese dishes fill the air at the market. Visitors can choose from meals like suckling pig (babi guling), nasi goreng that is stir-fried right in front of them, spicy chicken satay, and a lot of exotic but interesting foods
