To ensure diving safety and the best experience, all Blue Cave discovery dives must be accompanied by a professional instructor. The instructor will provide detailed guidance before you enter the water and offer assistance throughout the dive, ensuring you can safely enjoy the underwater world. It's designed to be easy even for first-time divers.
A Blue Cave discovery dive usually involves check-in, pre-dive instruction from a professional instructor (covering breathing techniques and equalization), gearing up with dive equipment, practicing breathing in shallow water, and then the instructor will guide you to slowly descend to explore the unique blue light and underwater scenery of the cave. The instructor will be with you the entire time.
For your first Blue Cave dive, please strictly follow your instructor's guidance, relax, and breathe slowly. Our activities often use small, private groups, allowing instructors to provide ample care. Avoid alcohol before diving and ensure you are in good health. If you have any specific health conditions, please inform your instructor in advance so they can assess your suitability for diving.
For the Blue Cave discovery dive, essential diving equipment such as wetsuits, fins, masks, regulators, and buoyancy control devices are typically provided by the tour operator. You don't need to bring your own; just ensure the fit is right and follow the instructor's directions for proper wear.
Your dive instructor will offer comprehensive support, including pre-dive explanations in Mandarin, guidance on diving techniques and safety, practice breathing underwater, and continuous supervision to ensure your safety. They will help you manage buoyancy, navigate, and overcome any nervousness, allowing you to comfortably enjoy the underwater world.
Before your Blue Cave discovery dive, we recommend bringing swimwear, a towel, and clean clothes for changing. If you wear glasses, consider using contact lenses or renting prescription masks from the provider. Sunscreen and drinking water are also advisable. Eat a light meal beforehand to avoid diving on an empty stomach. It's best to leave valuables at your accommodation.
The meeting point for the Blue Cave discovery dive is usually at the Cape Maeda parking lot or another location specified by the tour operator. The exact meeting spot, time, and related instructions will be detailed in your booking confirmation email or voucher after you complete your reservation. We advise you to carefully review this information before the activity and arrive at the meeting point early.
A discovery dive at the Blue Cave allows you to go deeper inside the cave, get up close to the mysterious blue light and marine life, and experience breathing underwater with an instructor. Snorkeling, on the other hand, is an activity on the water's surface using a mask and snorkel to view the underwater scenery. Diving offers a more immersive experience, while snorkeling is more relaxed and casual.
