We spent the longest time at Asahiyama Zoo, about two hours. Just focus on seeing the animals you want to see. There's no need to see the entire zoo. The other attractions are all close together, so you don't need to travel long. You really don't need to spend too much time at any of the attractions. There's no time to sit down and eat lunch at a leisurely pace. I recommend bringing some snacks; there are some available inside the zoo and at Shirahige Falls. I especially want to praise our tour guide – she was wonderful! During breaks between attractions, she introduced other areas of Hokkaido, their attractions, and local cuisine. Since there were three language learners on the bus, she translated for them each time. She also helped take photos and interacted with the group. I really appreciated it!
It was nice to visit several places in a days although it was a little rush at each destination. The tour schedules were well controlled and the guide Jenny ensured information was clearly delivered in 3 languages.
It was a great experience, even though the itinerary was a bit rushed. Xiao Gu 7 (the car's name) took us straight to the best spots for photos. The driver was very steady, which made us feel quite safe throughout the trip.
