I visited the original Central branch over a decade ago. Back then, I was young and didn't mind the crowded and noisy dining environment; sharing tables was commonplace, so dining at the Central branch was quite a novel experience. This time, however, I revisited with my family at the Tsim Sha Tsui branch, deliberately choosing an informal dining time (4 PM). The restaurant was only about a third full, and the service staff were exceptionally attentive (a rare sight in Hong Kong). Our pre-ordered food arrived 20 minutes later. The portions might not be enough for a man (one serving is a large steamer basket containing nine different dim sum items), but adding other dim sum would be quite satisfying. The taste was excellent; the shrimp dumplings and siu mai were decent. We also ordered a roast meat platter (char siu, rose chicken, and roast duck), which I found more authentically Taiwanese. The best dish was the osmanthus cake; the aroma was indescribably refreshing – so delicious! Lin Heung Tea House has been a representative of Hong Kong's dim sum culture for many years. While I didn't revisit the original Central branch this time, the Tsim Sha Tsui location offered a very clean and comfortable dining environment, and I would recommend it.
