Pleasant visit overall. The park was well maintained and easy to walk around, and it was nice to see the animals in a calm environment. Koalas were of course the highlight. Staff were polite and helpful without being over the top. A relaxed stop that fit well into our day. We enjoyed the experience and would recommend it. Five stars.
We checked in at 8:30 AM and returned to the hotel before boarding time. Boarding takes time, as you'll need to take commemorative photos along the way, so it's recommended to wait near the boat before boarding. The boat has three floors, with tables on the bottom floor. Diving and other options are available on the first floor on a first-come, first-served basis, so if you want to try them, it's best to board early. Many who boarded late missed out on options. Once we arrived at the pontoon, we had free time to enjoy the lunch buffet and snorkel. The buffet was very crowded at first, so I recommend snorkeling first and then having lunch when the buffet line had died down (which we did). Lunch is served until 2 PM, but they keep refilling, which was great. We didn't order any options, but our time was filled with snorkeling, buffet, snorkeling, changing, and glass-bottom boat rides. The time was just right. The boat's safe was broken, so it's best to bring only a smartphone and a credit card. Cafe au Lait on board was $2.50. I hope this information was helpful.
This plan includes both the ropeway and the Kuranda Railway. A bus will pick you up at your hotel. Then, you'll take the bus to the ropeway station. Then, take the ropeway to Kuranda. After that, you'll have free time in Kuranda. Then, take the Kuranda Railway to Cairns. This is a classic plan, but it's basically free and very fun.
