Begin your journey with a pickup from your hotel in Sukhothai. Travel in comfort in a private, air-conditioned sedan to the Si Satchanalai Historical Park.

Once there, choose to explore the park by bicycle, on foot, or by trackless tram. Visit Wat Khao Phanom Phloeng, the "Temple of the Holy Fire Mountain," and learn about its significance as a site for state rituals during the Sukhothai era.

Continue to Wat Khao Suwan Khiri, the "Golden Mountain Temple," situated on the highest peak of the town's central hill. Marvel at the massive, solid laterite bell-shaped chedi standing on a high square base.

Next, visit Wat Chang Lom, the "Elephant Temple," and see the 39 full-body elephant sculptures surrounding the base of the Sri Lankan-style bell stupa.

Head to Wat Chedi Chet Thaeo, the "Temple of Seven Rows of Stupas," believed to be the royal funerary temple for the rulers of Si Satchanalai. See 32 subordinate chedis featuring Sukhothai (Lotus Bud), Lanna, Sri Lankan, and even Khmer-influenced designs.

Visit Wat Nang Phaya, the "Temple of the Queen," famous for having the most exquisite stuccowork in Thailand. Look for patterns and designs on the vihara wall, and admire the beautiful blend of Chinese, Lanna, and Sukhothai aesthetics.

Finally, visit the ancient kiln site, the largest and oldest kiln site in the entire Si Satchanalai area, containing over 200 discovered kilns. Learn about the mass production of Sangkhalok ware and how the region was a technological leader in Southeast Asia long before the "Golden Age."
