St. Peter's at the Vatican. When you enter, the first thing that strikes you is the vastness and the light. Just above the tomb of St. Peter is Bernini's Baldacchino, a huge bronze canopy that seems to touch the sky. To the side, you will find Michelangelo's Pietà, the sculpture of Mary holding Jesus in her arms, protected by glass. A little further on is the Chair of St. Peter, the wooden throne covered in bronze that symbolizes... and you can climb to the dome where you'll have a magnificent view of the Vatican.
