From Tromsø: Discover Senja Island with Local Guide｜Norway

Your journey begins when you arrive in Senja by express boat, a comfortable one-hour ride from Tromsø that brings you straight to Senja.
Your local guide, born and raised on Senja, will meet you at the pier in Lysnes before you continue your adventure in a premium Mercedes van with space for up to six guests. From here, we leave the beaten path and explore the island’s most breathtaking landscapes and authentic fishing villages.

Our first destination is Fjordgård, the picturesque village beneath the iconic mountain Segla. Here, you’ll enjoy incredible views of the fjord and surrounding peaks before we continue to Mefjordbotn and Mefjordvær, two charming coastal communities nestled along the dramatic Mefjorden.

We’ll pause to admire the vast ocean horizon before heading toward the golden sands of Ersfjordstranda and the striking coastal cliffs of Tungeneset, where you can walk the wooden boardwalk and take in the spectacular sight of the Okshornan peaks rising from the sea.

The journey continues through Steinfjord, with its turquoise water and white beach, before we reach Skaland and the serene bay of Bøvær — home to the artistic landmark Kråkeslottet and the tranquil Bøvær Beach. Finally, we stop at the panoramic Bergsbotn Viewing Point, overlooking the stunning Bergsfjorden before returning to your journey back to Tromsø with the express boat.

As daylight fades, the adventure isn’t over, we’ll keep an eye on the Arctic sky for a chance to witness the Northern Lights dancing above the fjords and mountains.
