Product Info

Begin your adventure with a safety briefing before setting off on one of Table Mountain’s most exciting and least crowded scrambling routes. Left Face B offers a rugged and adventurous alternative to Platteklip Gorge and India Venster, combining exciting scrambling with dramatic scenery and quieter trails.

The route climbs through steep gullies, rocky traverses, narrow ledges, and sections of advanced scrambling. Along the way, climb short near-vertical rock pitches with good handholds, and move through terrain that feels wild and remote despite being on Table Mountain’s front face.

This route is slightly more exposed and challenging than India Venster and is best suited to hikers with a good head for heights who are comfortable using their hands while scrambling on rock. No technical climbing experience is required, but confidence in exposed terrain is essential.

Your guide carefully manages the route throughout the ascent, helping you safely negotiate scrambling sections while keeping the experience relaxed and enjoyable. There will be opportunities to pause, take photos, and explore interesting features along the route, including narrow gullies, exposed traverses, hidden caves, and natural rock formations.

Along the way, enjoy a light South African snack and rooibos tea while taking in views across the city, Lion’s Head, Devil’s Peak, and the dramatic cliffs surrounding the route.
