Day 1: Pokhara to Forest Camp

Begin your adventure with a 40-minute car ride from Pokhara to Kande. Traverse the scenic Pokhara-Baglung highway until you reach Kande, a small village settlement that serves as the official starting point of your trek.

Hike through terraced farmlands and a magnificent rhododendron forest. Along the way, encounter Australian Camp, an exceptional vantage point offering awe-inspiring vistas of the majestic Annapurna mountain range. This portion of the trek is a haven for bird enthusiasts, offering sightings of 488 bird species, including the visually striking Himalayan Monal (Danphe), Nepal’s national bird.

After approximately four hours of trekking, reach Forest Camp, where you will spend the night. Forest Camp provides an authentic representation of rural Nepalese life with its quaint stone houses and picturesque terraced farms.

Day 2: Forest Camp to High Camp

Today’s path is immersed in dense forests, predominantly consisting of evergreen foliage. The trail cuts through these deep woodlands, occasionally providing opportunities for short respites along the way.

As you journey towards Low Camp, traverse rhododendron and oak forests. As you progress towards High Camp, catch alluring views of Annapurna’s majestic massifs looming distantly on the horizon. Experience the impact of high altitude and be ready for traversing several narrow ridges on your journey. Ultimately, reach High Camp, where you will rest for the night.

Day 3: Mardi Himal Base Camp and Return to Badal Danda

Begin the final segment of the Mardi Himal trek bright and early. Your journey to the Mardi Himal Base Camp commences in the early hours, allowing you to witness the awe-inspiring sunrise. The climb up to the viewpoint lasts roughly 2 hours and presents its fair share of challenges.

The trail is comprised of rocky terrain that can be slippery, requiring careful navigation along narrow paths lining rugged ridges on the mountain. As you surpass an elevation of 4000 meters, you will undoubtedly notice a significant change in altitude. Nonetheless, upon reaching the base camp, a heavenly atmosphere awaits as your reward.

The base camp treats you to a captivating panorama showcasing Annapurna’s majestic peaks. Many regard this location as providing one of their most unforgettable views during sunrise. After spending some time at the base camp, make your descent towards Badal Danda for your lodging arrangements.

Day 4: Badal Danda to Sidhing and Return to Pokhara

From Badal Danda, your path diverges towards Sidhing, guiding you through thick forests nestled at the base of Mt. Machhapuchhre. The descent becomes steeper and more arduous, with a trail that proves to be quite slippery in nature. After approximately five hours of hiking, arrive in Sidhing and proceed to embark on a jeep that will transport you back to Pokhara.
