Day 1: Journey, Culture & First Safari Experience

Your adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel, followed by a morning departure on the SGR First Class train to Voi. Upon arrival, you will be met by your professional safari driver-guide and transferred to Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary.

Arrive at Salt Lick Safari Lodge in time for check-in and a hearty lunch. After relaxing, take part in a unique cultural experience with a WW1 Talk and visit to the onsite artifacts museum, offering insight into the region’s rich history.

Later in the afternoon, head out for your first game drive within the sanctuary, home to elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and a variety of antelope species.

Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay. From your room or viewing deck, you can continue watching wildlife as they gather at the illuminated waterhole throughout the night.

Day 2: Early Game Drive & Departure

Start your morning with an early game drive when wildlife is most active, maximizing your chances of sightings. Return to the lodge for breakfast and enjoy some leisure time as you continue observing animals visiting the waterhole.

After check-out, you will be transferred back to Voi Station for your return SGR First Class train journey to Nairobi or Mombasa, arriving in the evening with unforgettable safari memories.
