From Kampala: 4-Day Lake Mburo and Lake Bunyonyi Tour｜Uganda

Day 1: Lake Mburo National Park

Start your adventure with a morning pickup and drive to Lake Mburo National Park. Arrive in time for lunch at the lodge. After lunch, embark on a tranquil 2-hour boat cruise along Lake Mburo. Get up close to aquatic animals and rare birds along the park’s eastern banks.

Later, hop into a pop-up roofed safari vehicle for a game viewing experience en route to your lodge. Enjoy an early dinner before heading out for a night wildlife experience. See the park’s nocturnal predators like leopards, spotted hyenas, and genet cats as they become active after sunset. With the guidance of ranger guides and spotlights, spot elusive mammals like mongooses, porcupines, bush babies, honey badgers, and nocturnal birds. After a 3-hour night experience in the wild, return to your lodge for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Arise early for breakfast and head out for a morning game drive through the park’s savannah grasslands. Encounter active grazers and large mammals emerging to feed. Look out for Burchell’s zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, impalas, topis, elands, and more. Capture the sunrise with backdrops of sweeping hilltop views.

Later, sign out of the park and drive to Lake Bunyonyi, stopping along the way for lunch. Arrive at your lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Island Hopping

After breakfast, head out with a packed lunch for a guided boat tour around several of the 29 islands in Lake Bunyonyi. Visit Akampene (Punishment Island), Bwama Island, Bushara Island, and Kyahungye Island, each with its own story, culture, and historical significance. Spot a variety of bird species roaming the lake. Return to your lodge for relaxation on your balcony, followed by dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Departure Back to Kampala

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast and check out. Drive back to Kampala, stopping in Mbarara town for lunch. Continue to the equator monument in Kayabwe for an equator line experience and visit craft shops to purchase souvenirs. Arrive in Kampala in the evening and get dropped off at your hotel or the airport in Entebbe for your outbound flight.
