Day 1 — Small Tour
8:30 AM · Angkor Thom and Bayon
South Gate flanked by 54 gods and 54 demons. The Bayon with its 216 smiling faces, the Baphuon — an 11th-century pyramid — and the mysterious Phimeanakas, where legend has it a serpent spirit dwells. The Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King round out the morning.
11:30 AM · Thommanon, Chau Say Tevoda, and Ta Keo
Two twin temples with perfect light for photography and Ta Keo, a pyramid mysteriously abandoned without carvings. Your tour guide explains the archaeological theories about why construction was stopped.
2:30 PM · Ta Prohm
Spung trees have embraced towers and walls for centuries. Your tour guide takes you to the spots not marked on the ground for selfies.
4:00 PM · Angkor Wat at sunset
The world's largest temple bathed in golden light, after the midday groups have left. Bas-reliefs of the Mahabharata, apsaras, and panoramic views from the central tower.
Day 2 — Grand Circuit + Banteay Srei
8:30 am · Preah Khan
A temple city that was a university, a hospital, and a center of power. Moss-covered vaulted passageways with an atmosphere that no other temple in the park can replicate.
10:30 am · Neak Pean, Ta Som and East Mebon
Healing island-temple, Ta Som with the tree that embraces its eastern gate, and the East Mebon on an artificial island. Three temples that most tours skip due to lack of time.
12:00 PM · Banteay Srei
Pink sandstone, the best-preserved reliefs in Angkor. 25 km from the center, almost no 2-day tour goes there. Its incredibly fine sculptures led archaeologists to believe that only women's hands could have carved them.
3:00 PM · Banteay Samre, Pre Rup and Prasat Kravan
Banteay Samre in the countryside, Pre Rup with panoramic views, and Prasat Kravan — a brick temple with interior reliefs that are unique in all of Angkor.
Day 3 — Koh Ker UNESCO + Beng Mealea
8:30 AM · Koh Ker — 90 km north
Capital of the Khmer Empire in the 10th century, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2023. More than 180 temples over 80 km², most of them still in the jungle. We visit five in the complex:
· Prasat Neang Khmao — the Black Maiden Tower
· Prasat Pram — five towers embraced by the jungle
· Prasat Domrei — the temple of the elephant
· Prasat Ling — sanctuary with stone lingas
· Prasat Thom — 32-meter pyramid, the highest point in Koh Ker
2:30 pm · Beng Mealea
Unrestored, just as when French explorers found it in the 19th century. Vines and trees climb up collapsed blocks. An inner walkway and the outer moat – real exploration, without crowds.
4:30 PM · Drop-off in Siem Reap
At your hotel before 6:00 PM. Three days, three layers of the Khmer empire: the temples that everyone knows, the ones that almost no one visits, and the ones that the jungle still guards.
