Embark on one of India’s most iconic railways journeys the Toy Train ride from Mettupalayam to Ooty, officially known as the Nilgiri Mountain Railway (NMR). This historic railway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offers a once-in-a-lifetime experience as it climbs the lush slopes of the Nilgiri Hills in Tamil Nadu.
Starting from the quaint town of Ooty (Udhagamandalam) , the toy train travels a scenic 46 km route to Mettupalayam, passing through Coonoor, Wellington, and several other charming hill stations. The entire journey takes about 5 hours, allowing travelers to fully soak in the breathtaking beauty of the Western Ghats.
