Ketchikan: Town Tour, Totem Heritage Center & Trail Hike｜United States

Begin your journey along the picturesque waterfront, where colorful buildings cling to the edge of Tongass Narrows. As you drive through town, your guide will provide a narrated town tour of Ketchikan while you pass historic sites and learn about Ketchikan’s fishing heritage and its deep roots in Alaska Native culture.

Next, explore the Alaska Bio-Tour Adventures trail which is a rich moss-covered forest setting where a well-groomed trail will provide full-colored kiosks identifying the abundant species of animal and plant life living there. This experience provides a remote wilderness hiking activity for individuals, families, or groups interested in learning a wealth of information about the Tongass National Forest.

The terrain is accentuated by two creeks at and above their confluence as they cut their way through the mountain slope on their way to the Pacific Ocean.

Upon returning to the van your guide will take to you to City Park to cross a stream with a nearby fish hatchery. (Season depending) keep an eye out for Salmon and the beautiful American Bald Eagle as you walk across city park to the Totem Heritage Center.

Upon arriving at the Totem Heritage Center your guide will showcase Alaska Native Culture, Totem Poles, and other interesting parts of native culture. Your guide will give an allotted amount of time to explore the Totem Heritage Center at your own pace after key points have been presented by your guide. After the Totem Heritage Center your guide will return you to your original pickup location.
