Your experience includes a 3-hour icebreaker cruise and round-trip transfers from Oulu to the harbour in Kemi, ensuring a smooth and comfortable day from start to finish. Watch in awe as the powerful vessel breaks through thick sea ice, creating a spectacular winter scene around you.

One of the highlights is the chance to walk on the frozen sea (weather permitting) and float among the ice while wearing a thermal survival suit — a unique and surprisingly relaxing Arctic experience. At the end of your cruise, you’ll receive a certificate to commemorate your adventure.

On board, unwind across two cosy indoor decks and enjoy panoramic Arctic views from the modern café as you sail through this extraordinary frozen landscape.

  • Meeting point description: Pick-up points from Oulu: 09.40 am Oulu City Hall (Kirkkokatu 2a, Oulu), 09.45 am Scandic City (Saaristonkatu 4, Oulu), 10.00 am Nallikari, turning point/bus stop at Aalto Hotel (Nallikarinranta 10, Oulu). The bus will pick you up outside at the front of your pick-up place. Please be ready and wait outside at least 5 minutes before the scheduled pick-up time. The shuttle bus has 'Icebreaker Arktis Shuttle bus' reading at the front of the windshield.

  • Accessibility:The cruise is not suitable for guests with reduced mobility. Icebreakers are not wheelchair accessible

  • Know in advance:The time slot indicated in the order box refers to the starting time of the Icebreaker cruise. The time of the pick-up is indicated in the meeting point section

  • Walking on the ice might not be available in early winter season cruises due to ice conditions

  • The minimum height required for the ice floating activity is 140 cm

  • It is warm inside the Icebreaker. With appropriate clothing, you can also go outside on the deck to experience the Arctic scenery
