-What you can expect-
You'll start in the Medici district, taking in the exterior of Palazzo Medici Riccardi, along with the Basilica di San Lorenzo and the Cappelle Medicee.

From here, you'll continue to the Duomo complex. See the Battistero di San Giovanni with its golden Porta del Paradiso, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore crowned by Brunelleschi's Dome, and Giotto's bell tower.

As you walk through the medieval streets, you'll pass places associated with Dante and Beatrice, admire the Gothic Church of Orsanmichele, and stop at Mercato della Paglia, where you can rub the nose of the Porcellino for good luck.

You'll then reach Piazza della Signoria, the city's political centre and an open-air museum. Here, you'll see the Fountain of Neptune, the Loggia dei Lanzi and Palazzo Vecchio with Arnolfo's Tower. Following the route of the Corridoio Vasariano, you'll arrive at Ponte Vecchio, Florence's oldest bridge, known for its historic jewellery shops.

At lunchtime, you'll either enjoy a traditional Tuscan meal in a local restaurant if the option is selected, or have some free time to explore at your own pace.

In the afternoon, you'll visit the Galleria degli Uffizi with a guide and see works by artists such as Botticelli, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and Raphael, including Botticelli's Primavera and The Birth of Venus.

Your tour ends on the Uffizi Terrace, where you'll have panoramic views over Florence. After the visit, you're free to stay inside the museum and continue exploring.
