Day 2 - Chianti Wine & San Gimignano
Meet your guide in Piazza della Calza, near Florence’s Porta Romana. Your guide, easily recognizable by a purple T-shirt, will accompany you by minivan throughout the tour.
During the journey into the Tuscan countryside, your guide will introduce the itinerary and share insights into the region’s history, culture, vineyards, and landscapes.
At the first winery, taste four wines, including Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino, and Super Tuscan. You will also sample 30-year-old balsamic vinegar and truffle extra virgin olive oil while learning how to identify different aromas and flavors.
Continue to a second winery overlooking the towers of San Gimignano. Visit the vineyards and cellars, learn about traditional wine and olive oil production, and discover recommended food and wine pairings.
Taste Vernaccia white wine, rosé, and Chianti Colli Senesi D.O.C.G. Local wines and regional products will also be available to purchase or arrange for shipment.
Complete the experience in San Gimignano, known as the “Medieval Manhattan” because of its historic towers. Explore its cobbled streets and artisan shops while discovering landmarks such as Piazza del Duomo, the Collegiata, and Torre Grossa.
After visiting San Gimignano, return by minivan to the original meeting point in Florence.
