One-Day Trip Itinerary: Bucharest → Peles Castle → Bran Castle → Brasov → Bucharest
Departure
Start your journey bright and early from Bucharest, with the scenic drive to the Carpathian Mountains taking about 2 hours.
1. Peles Castle - Sinaia
Your first stop Sinaia, dominated by a magnificent Neo-Renaissance gem, the Peles Castle, surrounded by lush forests. Built in the late 19th century, Peles Castle offers a glimpse into Romania’s royal history. Take a tour of its opulent rooms, admire the ornate woodwork, and capture photos of its fairytale-like towers. Or just enjoy it’s remarkable architecture and surroundings. You left Bucharest at 06:45 am and you will arrive to Sinaia/Peles around 09:00 am, but please take into consideration that the hour can change depending on the traffic. We suggest to choose slot time for Peles: 09:15- 11:00.
2. Bran Castle - Bran
Next, head to the famous Bran Castle, about an hour’s drive from Peles. Known as "Dracula’s Castle," Bran’s Gothic appearance and dramatic hilltop setting create a mysterious allure. The castle museum offers insights into the legends of Vlad the Impaler and Transylvanian history. After exploring the rooms and hidden staircases, enjoy local treats and souvenirs at the nearby market.
3. Brasov
After Bran, continue to Brasov, one of Romania’s most charming medieval cities. Walk through the picturesque Old Town, where cobblestone streets, vibrant buildings, and the iconic Black Church await. Take in the sights around Council Square, enjoy a lunch with Romanian specialties, and visit any local shops or cafes.
Return to Bucharest
After a day full of exploration, begin the journey back to Bucharest. The return drive takes around 3 hours, making it an ideal time to relax and reflect on the day’s highlights.
This day trip provides a taste of Romania’s rich history, stunning landscapes, and vibrant culture, all packed into one unforgettable adventure.
