The lively Chiado district is next. A vibrant area known for its historic cafés and elegant shops. From here descend to the lower part of the city, and stroll towards the river, passing iconic landmarks such as the Praça dos Restauradores, the lively Praça D. Pedro IV (commonly known as Rossio Square), and the impressive Rua Augusta Arch.
Your route ends at the grand and historic Praça do Comércio, which opens onto the Tagus River and offers stunning views of the waterfront.
Begin your ascent back into the hills, heading towards the majestic Lisbon Cathedral and the charming Santa Luzia Viewpoint, where you’ll enjoy more picturesque views of the city’s red rooftops and the river below.
Stroll through Alfama to your final stop at the iconic São Jorge Castle, perched high above the city, where you’ll be able to explore independently.
