Discover the history, landmarks and royal connections of Scotland’s capital on this full-day Edinburgh shore excursion. From historic streets to famous royal residences, this tour offers the perfect introduction to one of Europe’s most beautiful cities.

Upon leaving the port, we travel to the Royal Yacht Britannia, the former royal yacht of the British monarchy. Step aboard and discover where Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip spent time during their voyages around the world.

We then continue into the heart of Edinburgh for a guided tour through the city centre, passing historic streets of the Old Town and sections of the famous Royal Mile. Along the way, there will be a photo stop at the magnificent Palace of Holyroodhouse, the official Scottish residence of the British Monarch since the 16th century.

Your shore excursion then continues up the Royal Mile to the iconic Edinburgh Castle, dramatically perched atop Castle Rock. Explore centuries of Scottish history, visit the Half Moon Battery, see where the famous One O’Clock Gun is fired, and discover treasures such as the Honours of Scotland and the Queen’s Embroideries.

After your castle visit, enjoy free time to explore Castlehill and the Royal Mile, wander through Edinburgh’s atmospheric closes and alleyways, browse local shops, or visit landmarks such as St Giles' Cathedral.

Before returning to your ship, enjoy a panoramic coach tour through Edinburgh’s elegant New Town, renowned for its Georgian architecture, grand streets and neoclassical design, while taking in more of the city’s beautiful scenery along the way.
