-What You Can Expect-
Welcome to Penang Tropical Fruit Farm, home to South East Asia’s largest collection of fruits, spanning a sprawling 25 acres in the North West of Penang, Malaysia. With over 200 species of edible fruits identified, our mission is to promote the incredible flora of Malaysia through education and information. Located about 800 feet above sea level on the hilly terrains of Teluk Bahang, our farm provides an ideal environment for cultivating a diverse range of tropical and sub-tropical fruit trees.
Established in 1993, the orchard was developed with several key objectives: to conserve rare and exotic fruit trees, to educate and promote awareness among locals and visitors about our land's natural gifts, and to play a positive role in agriculture and eco/agro tourism amidst the intensive development in our state’s rural areas. Over the years, we have acquired many rare and exotic fruit trees from both the region and distant corners of the globe, including Central and South America, Central Africa, India, the Middle East, the Caribbean, and the Pacific Islands. Our collection continues to grow, showcasing the rich diversity of fruit species.
At Penang Tropical Fruit Farm, we prioritize sustainability by using only organic fertilizers, some of which are processed from fruit waste collected on-site. We limit chemical use to instances where it is absolutely necessary, all in our commitment to fostering a cleaner environment for the future. Visitors can enjoy guided farm tours, sampling a minimum of 15 types of fruits, and savor light snacks, juices, and a specially prepared buffet for pre-booked groups, enhancing the overall experience of exploring our vibrant orchard.
