Both Boracay and Cebu offer excellent diving experiences, but they have distinct characteristics. Boracay's dive sites are more concentrated with high visibility, making it suitable for beginners to try diving or get certified. The dive sites here primarily feature rich coral reefs and small tropical fish schools, with common sightings of sea turtles and reef sharks, as well as shipwrecks to explore, and relatively calm currents. Cebu, on the other hand, is known for its diverse dive sites, including the sardine run in Moalboal, the turtle sanctuary in Bohol, and swimming with whale sharks in Oslob, offering a richer and more spectacular overall ecosystem. If you are seeking a relaxed and beginner-friendly diving experience, Boracay would be a good choice.

Boracay's peak tourist season typically falls within the dry season each year, from November to May. During this period, the weather is sunny, and sea conditions are stable, making it ideal for water activities and beach relaxation. December to February is the most pleasant period climatically, but also the busiest with the most tourists. The rainy season is between June and October, with frequent showers or typhoons, unstable sea conditions, and potential impact on some water activities. To avoid the rainy season, it is recommended to plan your visit between November and May. Even during the rainy season, it doesn't rain every day, and there's still a chance of encountering good weather, with fewer tourists, allowing you to enjoy a more tranquil Boracay.
