Step inside a side of Boston that most visitors never encounter: the living world of hackers, founders, researchers, and obsessively curious people who build their lives around ideas.
We will do:
- A tour of MIT lounges, maker spaces, and labs with MIT ID access that tours skip
- A ride around Boston on a scooter
- A tour of a hacker house at MIT
- Demo of tech workflows, setups, and tricks at hacker house
- A view of the Boston skyline
- Have photos of you taken throughout the day at viewpoints and key locations
Tour of MIT
We shall do a tour of MIT beyond the standard campus highlights. We will visit creative lounges, innovation spaces, reading terraces, overlooked architectural corners, and places where students and researchers actually work, rest, debate, and build that the public tours skip. Along the way, I’ll explain MIT traditions, hacks, founder culture, and the small details that reveal how the Institute functions as a living ecosystem, and not simply a collection of famous buildings.
Tour of Boston
You shall ride as my passenger on my jet-black electric scooter, as we move between selected Cambridge and Boston viewpoints. The exact route depends on your interests and comfort. Allowing us to go where cars and buses can not, seeing more and faster.
Hacker house and Tech Demos:
We will return to my hacker house at MIT. Part home, part startup workspace, and part community laboratory. I’ll show you how the space has been designed for focused work, experimentation, hosting, and spontaneous collaboration. You’ll see the tools, systems, and unusual setup choices I use in daily life, along with a live mini-demonstration of all the tech and tools a researcher from MIT uses.
You’ll also hear the story of Boston Polymaths, the only multidisciplinary, interuniversity community founded around a simple idea: people with wildly different obsessions should have a room where they can meet, exchange worlds, and create together. I’ll share how we built gatherings across MIT, Harvard, Northeastern, Tufts, Boston University, Berklee, and the wider Boston intellectual scene. And what I have learned about finding remarkable people and creating communities around curiosity.
Skyline View:
We finish at the best view in Boston, at a rooftop Skyroom. From its sweeping windows and terrace, take in the Charles River, Cambridge, Back Bay, downtown Boston, and the city’s changing light. This will be the time to ask deeper questions, continue our conversation, or simply slow down and absorb Boston from above.
This is not a scripted sightseeing tour. This is a highly personal, conversational experience made only for *a single person*. Expect unusual spaces, practical ideas, founder stories, intellectual conversation, and a glimpse into how one Boston builder has designed a life around technology, community, and curiosity.
