Visit Ingapirca, Ecuador's major Inca-Cañari archaeological site on a full-day tour from Cuenca. Explore the ruins, including the only elliptical temple of the sun made of perfectly carved stones, terraces, patios, and more. On Sundays, visit the Indigenous Cañar Market.

Start the day early and depart from Cuenca, heading towards the stunning landscapes of the Southern Ecuadorian Andes. Stop at the Sanctuary of the Virgen del Rocio, a magnificent neo-Gothic church built on a cliffside that resembles a medieval castle. Admire the incredible architecture and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.

On the way to Ingapirca, stop at a local food stall where you can witness the preparation of traditional Ecuadorian dishes such as cascaritas, fritada, and fried plantain. For the adventurous ones, savor these delicious flavors and experience Ecuador's culinary heritage.

Take brief stops at select viewpoints along the road to admire the stunning Andean scenery. The panoramic views of the rolling green hills and dramatic mountain ranges offer the perfect photo opportunity.

Upon arriving at the most important archaeological site in Ecuador, explore the Cañari-Inca complex. Visit the famous elliptical Temple of the Sun, agricultural terraces, courtyards, and learn about the fascinating history of these ancient cultures from your expert guide.

Take a short hike to witness the Inca Face, a naturally occurring rock formation that resembles a human face, believed to have spiritual significance to the ancient inhabitants of this region. After a day full of history, culture, and stunning views, return to Cuenca.
