Product Info

Escape the city and experience Mongolia’s nomadic heritage and wildlife in a single unforgettable day. Start with the Mongol Nomadic Show, a reenactment of early 20th-century nomadic life. Then, transfer to Khustai National Park, home to a restored population of Przewalski's wild horses.

Just a short drive west of Ulaanbaatar, start with the Mongol Nomadic Show, a captivating reenactment of early 20th-century nomadic life. Watch yak-cart migrations, felt-making, and daily traditions that have defined Mongolian culture for centuries.

After lunch, transfer to Khustai National Park, home to a restored population of Przewalski's wild horses. Though the species became extinct in the wild by the 1950s, a small number of descendants of those originally captured for European zoos and private collections in the late 19th and early 20th centuries—were reintroduced to their ancestral homeland in 1993.

Today, after more than three decades, a few hundred wild horses, all born in Mongolia, roam the park, surviving predators and the region's harsh climate. This initiative has also facilitated the conservation and breeding of red deer, Mongolian gazelles, wild sheep, and marmots, which are later introduced into areas where their populations have declined or disappeared.

Learn in detail about this remarkable conservation program before embarking on a wildlife-watching excursion, where you will discover fascinating facts about the last surviving wild horses on Earth.
