ITINERARY:

Get ready for a thrilling day of adventure in the breathtaking Litchfield National Park — where roaring waterfalls, crystal-clear plunge pools, and dramatic landscapes create the ultimate Top End experience!

Just over an hour’s drive from Darwin, we kick off our journey into this tropical paradise, where lush monsoon forests, sandstone escarpments, and hidden swimming holes await. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to crank up the excitement with an optional Spectacular Jumping Crocodile Cruise on the Adelaide River. This is your opportunity to see powerful saltwater crocodiles leap from the water in a jaw-dropping display of strength and agility — an unforgettable encounter with one of Australia’s most fearsome predators! If you prefer a more relaxed start to the day, we’ll instead visit the Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve. Nestled on the traditional lands of the Limilngan-Wulna people, this rich wetland ecosystem is alive with turtles, water pythons, birdlife, and of course, the iconic Saltie.

We’ll stop in the charming township of Batchelor, where you can pick up lunch to take with you into the park. Once we arrive at Litchfield, our first stop is the Magnetic Termite Mounds — towering natural structures built with uncanny precision, aligned with the Earth’s magnetic field and standing like ancient monuments across the open woodland.

As the tropical heat rises, it’s time to cool off in style. Dive into the serene waters of Buley Rockhole or float beneath the towering cascades of Wangi Falls — both stunning natural plunge pools surrounded by greenery and rugged beauty. Whether you choose a refreshing swim or prefer to relax by the water’s edge, this is the ultimate Top End escape.

No trip to Litchfield is complete without standing before the awe-inspiring Florence Falls or Tolmer Falls. These dramatic waterfalls tumble down rocky cliffs into deep pools below, creating a symphony of sound and a picture-perfect moment that will stay with you long after the day ends.

After a full day of wild beauty, adventure, and immersion in the natural magic of Litchfield, we’ll journey back to Darwin. You’ll return refreshed, exhilarated, and with stories to tell — having explored one of the Northern Territory’s most stunning and unforgettable landscapes.
