After a morning departure from Marrakech, enjoy the travel to Mhamid. Admire the high atlas mountains and what you see driving along the ancient caravan route. Feel your excitement increase as you arrive at the desert gate and see the camels. During an hour and a half of riding these fascinating creatures, take a deep breath as the sun sets from the top of the highest dune over the distant mountains. Smile as you arrive this way to the bivouac of nomad tents for a night’s rest.

If you wake up early enough, you'll watch the sunrise spectacle, when the color of the dunes and the play of shadows are an awesome sight. After this, it’s Ait Ben Haddou, a distinctive kasbah, often used as a movie location for Hollywood blockbusters like Gladiator. You'll have the option to purchase lunch there before the drive back over the Tizi-n-Tichka pass and back to Marrakech.
