Product Info

Discover one of the most beautiful trails in the Vesuvius National Park: "Valle dell'Inferno". The trail starts at an altitude of 500 meters and extends, alternating uphill and flat sections, to the ridge. Thanks to its conformation, this is the ideal route to observe the typical geological structure of the volcanic layer of the Somma-Vesuvius.

The Valle dell'Inferno separates Mount Somma (the old caldera) from the youngest volcano, Vesuvius, partly flooded by the lava of the last eruption in 1944, now only colonized by the lichen Stereocaulon vesuvianum. The visit to the Valle dell'Inferno is a fascinating walk to discover the western slope of the Somma-Vesuvius, where you can appreciate the beauty of the volcano.

Among broom, pines, and volcanic sand, enjoy unique views of the Campanian plain in a wild place just a stone's throw from the metropolis.
