Start the day with pickup from Civitavecchia harbor in an air-conditioned bus and then head to Rome to meet your experienced guide. After a brief explanation of the itinerary, it’s time to visit the world’s largest amphitheater, the Colosseum. In your small group, experience the wonders of Ancient Rome as you wander through this iconic landmark. Your guide will bring the Colosseum back to life and explain how the gladiators entertained the crowds with spectacular fights. Learn about the engineering applied by the Romans to build such an imposing structure so ahead of its time.

After the Colosseum, proceed into the archaeological site of the Roman Forum which represented the commercial, legal and administrative center of ancient Rome. Take a step back in time to the Imperial age of Rome and discover the ancient ruins, including Julius Caesar’s original mausoleum where his body was cremated, the imposing temple of Antonino and Faustina and the fascinating structure of the ancient Roman senate.
