Start the guided bike tour at the historic St. Johanns-Tor. From there, the route leads to the Dreirosenbrücke, which offers a magnificent view over the city on the Rhine – and even extends as far as Germany and France. A perfect moment to enjoy Basel's unique location! Continue on to the Kleinbasel side, where you will cycle upstream along the Rhine. On this route, you will learn exciting things about Basel and discover both well-known landmarks and hidden corners. There are always wonderful opportunities to take unforgettable photos.
At the Rhine power plant, you will cross the river again and return to Grossbasel. From there, your route leads through the upscale St. Alban district to Basel Cathedral. With over 1,000 years of history, the cathedral is a true architectural jewel. In front of the majestic cathedral, you will learn more about its architectural history – and enjoy a refreshing drink and two traditional delicacies from Basel.
After the refreshment, the next stage takes you along Basel's shopping mile to the Market Square, in the heart of the city. There, the magnificent City Hall awaits you, which immediately catches the eye with its red sandstone facade and ornate decorations.
From the Marktplatz, you will return to the riverbank and cycle along the Rhine one last time. Your tour ends at the St. Johanns-Tor, the starting point – a perfect ending to once again feel the fresh Rhine breeze and take in the city's unique atmosphere.
The tour covers about 7.5 miles and lasts approximately 3 hours. The route is mostly flat and easy to complete – ideal for anyone who wants to discover Basel in an active yet relaxed way.
