Product Info

  • This is a hands-on experience for making Nenju (Buddhist prayer beads). You will create a simplified version of Nenju that can be used for a wide range of occasions. You will select wooden beads or precious stones (such as crystal or jade), string them yourself, assemble the braided cord, choose the tassel, and attach it yourself. You can take home your very own one-of-a-kind prayer beads. Please take this opportunity to create your own Nenju, which can be used for various purposes, whether for yourself or as a souvenir for your family. When you visit temples during your trip to Kyoto, taking them out of your bag to pray will give you a very elegant appearance. Combinations of wooden beads and stones range from 5,500 yen to 6,500 yen. If you choose to make them entirely with precious stones, the price ranges from 7,500 yen to 13,500 yen. Twisted tassels are also available as a paid option (2,000 yen). Prices for men's beads range from 4,500 yen to 15,000 yen. One observer is allowed per participant. Thank you for your understanding. Please note that observers may not be able to enter during busy periods.
