The river itself is fast and furious and also provides a wonderful showcase of the unspoiled and breathtaking scenery of the Queenstown region as you soar down the river and conquer its wild, untamed surface and rapids in the company of your fellow rafters and qualified safety instructors. Pass through the six separate sections of rapids, as well as the long, shadowy distance of the 170m-long Oxenbridge Tunnel. Finish it all off with the Cascade Rapid that will cap off the rafting challenge! This Shotover River rafting tour departs twice daily in both the morning and the afternoon, so both early birds and late risers can participate at the peak of their alertness.

- Hotel transfers to the departure location are not included. However, if you make your way to the centre of Queenstown, pickup and drop-off are included from the Go Orange office to the Rafting Base.
- Please allow approximately 4.5 hours from pickup to drop-off for this experience
- The minimum age for rafting is 13 years old and the minimum weight is 40 kg
- Rafting is not available for rafters weighing over 120 kg
- Rafting with a heart condition or while taking heart medication is not permitted
- Rafting while pregnant is not permitted
- Rafters below 16 years old must have a guardian travel with them and have a child waiver signed by a guardian
- Rafters under 18 years old require a child waiver form to be signed by a guardian
- Clients must be water confident and able to swim in fast-moving water
- The river grade is 3–5 and the Shotover River varies in difficulty according to river levels. Please contact Go Orange if you are unsure of traveller suitability (contact information provided after booking). We require a minimum of 8 rafters to run the trip, so please note that your booking will be on standby until these minimum numbers are met. Should these minimum numbers not be met, you may be moved to an earlier or later departure time, moved to another date, or alternatively refunded. Please note that this happens very rarely as this is a very popular experience

We recommend valuables be left at accommodation (i.e. passports/traveller's cheques/jewellery etc.) Go Orange takes no responsibility for traveller's belongings

Clients must listen carefully to and follow guides’ instructions and adhere to all safety requirements. Participation in rafting activities involves a degree of risk and the rafting operator cannot absolutely guarantee participants safety. All clients will be required to sign a disclaimer prior to departing

- Due to time zone differences, the confirmed cancellation date is based on the supplier’s local time.
