Since I was traveling with my family, I purchased tickets for the Narita Express, known as NEX, despite the high cost. I believe it is at least two to three times more expensive than Korea's KTX. If you purchase tickets online, you cannot use them immediately; you must issue a physical ticket. First, you need to go to the NEX boarding area at Narita Airport to get your ticket. The ticket clearly indicates the boarding seat number. You can then receive a return ticket, which can be a bit confusing. It is recognized as a ticket of the same size as the physical ticket, but it does not have a seat number. Therefore, you definitely need to issue a physical ticket for the return trip from Tokyo to Narita. On the return journey, you can freely board at locations such as Shibuya and Shinjuku. In my case, I tried inserting my ticket into the ticket machine about four times at the Shinjuku boarding platform to exchange it for a boarding pass, but it failed to issue and displayed a message stating that it could not be used normally. Eventually, I was able to successfully issue my ticket at the NEX Information Center located next to the JR Information Center. In my case, I stored my luggage at the storage facility accessible via the underground passage from the NEX platform and explored Shinjuku. When I went to retrieve my bags, I found the facility was full and there was no room available.
