At Kunigami Port Restaurant, we waited outside until our meal was ready, but the wait wasn't boring at all. The view was amazing, and swaying in a hammock in the shade while watching the ocean was the best! At Asumui Hikes, I was surprised to hear what I initially thought was a bird's call, only to discover it was actually the Oshima cicada, a species found only in this region. We also encountered wild boars, but they were very docile, which was a relief. The convenient system of using our smartphone's location information to listen to the guide's explanations made the tour even more enjoyable. The tour guide was also very courteous, and I enjoyed the tour until the very end. We were even given bottled water, shikuwasa jelly, and lemon cake, which was a great treat! I hope they offer another course in the northern part of the area.

I think DMM and Churaumi Aquarium have distinct characteristics, but both are worth visiting. DMM's location makes it a good option to schedule a visit to Senagajima on the same day as the two, as they're very close together and you can even visit the nearby shopping mall. While DMM isn't as large as Churaumi, if you're not planning a trip to northern Taiwan but still want to see some underwater life, it's a worthwhile visit. I was particularly impressed by seeing sloths, pufferfish, and chameleons up close, and being able to touch starfish and sea urchins. Some feeding experiences require an additional fee, but children will definitely enjoy it!
