The tour ran smoothly from start to finish and ended on schedule. If I had traveled alone using JR trains, I definitely wouldn't have been able to visit so many places as efficiently. I highly recommend this tour for those without a driver's license. Our tour guide, Mr. Hayashi, was very kind, and I felt at ease. I also made good friends with other solo travelers, which is a fond memory. The atmosphere was welcoming, even for solo travelers. There were plenty of photo spots, and I was able to take plenty of beautiful photos, which I really enjoyed. My only concern, and this may depend on the individual, was that the Japanese guide was relatively simple. While the Chinese guide provided detailed and thorough explanations of tourist spots, the locations of photo spots, and important points to note, the Japanese guide seemed to focus on explaining the destinations and travel times. However, the guide was happy to provide detailed information if I asked individual questions, so it wasn't too inconvenient. If you can speak Chinese, I think the tour will be even more enjoyable.
Overall, the Itoshima day trip was a great experience. It's very convenient for those who don't want to rent a car but still want to visit attractions in the outskirts of Fukuoka. The itinerary was well-planned, not too rushed, and there was enough time to take photos and explore each spot at a leisurely pace. Our guide, Zhang Qing, was incredibly friendly and enthusiastic, sharing many stories about Japanese culture and local life along the way. She also offered suggestions on photo angles and even helped take pictures for everyone, creating a very relaxed atmosphere. It's a perfect trip for first-time visitors to Fukuoka or those unfamiliar with the transportation system. The sea views on Itoshima were beautiful, and the weather was perfect that day, making for a very comfortable trip. If I have the opportunity to visit Fukuoka again, I would definitely consider joining another day trip.
Because IC cards are not yet available before March 14, 2026, most people use cash. However, with e-tickets, you only need to show them to the driver, which is really convenient and can significantly speed up the process of getting off the bus.
We joined a six-hour ski tour with Chinese instructors and purchased this ticket for our family. It was very convenient. Inside the Prince Ski Center, there's an automatic ticket machine. Scan the QR code, and you can take the ticket to the rental center next to the ski center. There are staff to assist you. They'll give you ski equipment, ski suits, helmets, and a shopping bag. Then, go to the Snow House to change and put your gear in a locker (lockers cost extra). Remember to bring Japanese yen banknotes; there are change machines. You can use the restaurant and bring Japanese yen and credit cards. If you have booked a lesson, please arrive at the ski center 1-1.5 hours early to exchange your ticket and change. Waiting times can be long and may delay your paid ski lesson. The one-day chairlift pass allows you to ride the chairlift up and down. It's recommended for those with an instructor or skiing experience. The chairlift pass is free for children under 12, but the child and an adult must go to the ski center counter to collect the pass.
Xiao Wang, the tour leader, did a great job! 👍 There was plenty of time at each attraction, and the itinerary went very smoothly.
