This time, I joined a Nikko tour from Tokyo Station's Marunouchi North Exit, along with other foreigners, where Japanese was spoken. I was deeply impressed by Lake Chuzenji, and Kegon Falls was also wonderful. In Nikko, our tour guide, Kou, bought tickets for us all at once, so we were able to enter earlier than those traveling independently. The buildings in Nikko are magnificent, and the large cedar trees are breathtaking! To see the "Sleeping Cat" carved into the gate of the East Corridor, you have to climb a long flight of stairs, which can be tough for the elderly. We seniors skipped this part. We had buckwheat galettes and buckwheat ice cream at a cafe where we took a break, and they were delicious. Nikko sightseeing was truly wonderful! It was a refreshing experience! Our tour guide, Kou, guided the multinational participants in both English and Japanese. She explained the history in more detail than I, a Japanese person, could, which I greatly appreciated. Kou ran over to take pictures for us and always spoke to the participants during the tour. She also managed the tour time very well. I was in the front seat, so I could see the driver, Mr. Cho? The driving was also fantastic, which was very impressive. It was a fun and very satisfying tour! ✨
