If time allows, I highly recommend staying at least 3 days to see everything on the island. A day trip is also great! Sandboarding is really fun for first-timers, but two sessions will almost completely deplete your energy. I also highly recommend staying until after feeding the dolphins in the evening before taking the boat home! After 5:30 PM, almost half the tourists board the boat to go back, so you can enjoy a relaxing sunset with a cocktail on the less crowded beach, watching dolphins and lots of small fish leaping on the surface! After feeding the dolphins, I suggest quickly boarding the boat and sitting on the third floor. During the one-hour return trip, you can look up and slowly admire the endless starry sky – it's truly incredibly moving!
The pick-up and drop-off and ferry transfer services were excellent and very convenient. Although the shuttle driver didn't leave his contact information, which felt a bit risky at first, the round trip was fantastic.
I had a wonderful time on this vibrant island 😃 I look forward to coming back to Moreton Island to experience staying there again. The day trip was a bit rushed, but it was still fantastic.
