Product Info

The Dhaulagiri Annapurna Community Trek is a 10-day journey from Pokhara to Pokhara, following quieter trails through the hills and mountain villages of western Nepal. The route combines local village life, forest walks and wide Himalayan views without spending the whole trek on busy trails.

The journey starts with a drive from Pokhara to Galeshwor, where you begin walking toward Bas Kharka. From there, the trail passes through Nangi, Mohare Danda, Tikot, Swanta and Chistibung before reaching Khopra Ridge.

Along the way, you’ll walk through rhododendron and oak forests, terraced hillsides and small mountain settlements. The villages are home to local Magar and Gurung communities, and accommodation is mainly in simple local lodges and community-run stays. It’s a good chance to experience a quieter side of rural Nepal and see how people live in the mountain villages.

One of the main highlights is Mohare Danda, where the landscape opens up and you can see Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South and other Himalayan peaks. The trail then continues toward Khopra Ridge at around 3,640 meters, another great viewpoint with broad mountain scenery.

From Khopra, the route continues toward Dobato and then Ghandruk. Ghandruk is a traditional Gurung village with stone houses, narrow paths and mountain views. After spending the final night here, you’ll take a scenic road journey back to Pokhara Lakeside, where the trek ends.

The walking days vary in length and difficulty, with some steady uphill and downhill sections. Weather and trail conditions can affect the daily schedule, so your local guide may make small changes when necessary.

If conditions are suitable and you feel comfortable with the altitude, there is also an option to hike toward Khayer Lake from Khopra. This is an additional high-altitude walk and can be decided during the trek with your guide.

This trek suits travelers who want a quieter Himalayan experience, enjoy walking through villages and forests, and want to combine mountain scenery with a more local way of experiencing Nepal.
