Product Info

Tucked away in the bustling heart of Air Itam, this legendary Penang stall is a portal to the past, a culinary institution cherished for over 70 years. Air Itam Sister Curry Mee, a Michelin-selected gem, is where two endearing elderly sisters uphold tradition. The air hangs thick with the nostalgic aroma of broth simmering over a charcoal fire, a rare and beautiful sight. Amidst the gentle chatter, you’ll find a must-visit spot for truly authentic Malaysian street food, a true taste of Penang's soul.

Whether you're a curious traveller on a food pilgrimage or a local seeking a taste of nostalgia, here’s what makes it unforgettable:
The magic lies in its simplicity and heritage. The curry mee here is unlike any other, featuring a uniquely light and sweet broth that’s gently perfumed by the charcoal fire it’s cooked over. It’s the special cuttlefish chilli base that adds a savoury depth, a secret recipe passed down through generations. This isn't just a meal; it's a piece of living history, served with a gentle smile by the beloved Lim sisters themselves.

An essential stop for an authentic Penang breakfast, a nostalgic lunch, or a food lover's pilgrimage.
