Product Info

Your adventure begins with a convenient pickup from your hotel, as you set off towards the wild and scenic southwest of Mauritius—an area known for its dramatic landscapes, waterfalls, forests, and volcanic history.

The first stop of the day takes you deep into nature at the spectacular Chamarel Waterfalls. Feel the fresh mountain air as you admire the powerful cascade plunging into a lush green gorge, one of the most impressive natural sights on the island. Just a short drive away, you will explore the world-famous Chamarel Seven Coloured Earth, a fascinating geological wonder where naturally coloured sand dunes create a surreal landscape. While in the park, you will also meet the gentle giant Aldabra tortoises, adding a memorable wildlife encounter to your adventure.

From Chamarel, the journey continues through winding roads into the heart of Black River Gorges National Park, the largest protected forest in Mauritius. Here, you will be surrounded by dense rainforest, deep valleys, and sweeping mountain views, offering countless photo opportunities and a true feeling of escape into the island’s wild side. You will then stop at the scenic Alexandra Falls viewpoint, where you can take in breathtaking panoramic views over rivers, forests, and the distant coastline.

Leaving the wilderness behind, the tour heads toward the spiritual center of the island, Ganga Talao (Grand Bassin). Nestled in a volcanic crater, this sacred lake is the most important Hindu pilgrimage site in Mauritius. Your guide will share insights into Hindu traditions, rituals, and cultural practices, and explain how they continue to play an important role in modern Mauritian life.

After a morning full of exploration, you will enjoy a well-deserved break with lunch at a local Mauritian restaurant. Here, you will taste authentic island cuisine, rich in spices and flavors, giving you a true culinary experience of Mauritius. Lunch is included in your package.

In the afternoon, the adventure continues to Trou aux Cerfs, a dormant volcanic crater located in Curepipe. Walk along the rim and enjoy sweeping views across the island, from the central plateau to the distant coastline. The final stop takes you into Curepipe city, where you can experience the local atmosphere, see everyday Mauritian life, and enjoy the cooler climate of the highlands.

After a full day of adventure, culture, and natural beauty, you will be comfortably driven back to your hotel, bringing an unforgettable southwest Mauritius experience to a perfect close.
