- Zao Mountain Range: One of the most famous mountain ranges in the Tohoku region of Japan, known for its stunning natural landscapes and rich cultural heritage. From the lingering snow and fresh green of spring, the lush oxygen-rich forests of summer, the endless autumn foliage, to the winter snow monsters—every season is unmissable. - Zao Okama Crater: Located in Miyagi Prefecture at the border of Zao Town and Kawasaki Town, this volcanic lake sits at an altitude of approximately 1,670 meters, covers an area of about 1 kilometer, and reaches a depth of about 30 meters. It is the highest point in the central Zao mountain range. The name 'Okama' comes from its resemblance to a cooking pot, as it is surrounded by the three peaks of Katta-dake, Kumano-dake, and Goshiki-dake. The mysterious emerald-green waters of the Zao Okama Crater look like a jewel dropped into the mountains. The color changes slightly with the seasons, earning it the nickname 'Goshiki-numa' (Five-Color Pond)!
