Begin with a pickup from your accommodation. If you are staying in Ubud center, your pickup will be closer to 2:30 AM. From south beach areas (Canggu, Seminyak, Kuta), expect a 1:30 AM alarm.
Arrive at Kintamani basecamp at the foot of Mount Batur and begin the 2-hour hike up Mount Batur. The trail is roughly 9 km round-trip, featuring a mix of dirt paths and slippery volcanic gravel near the top. It requires a moderate fitness level.
