The Basilica is the place where, according to Christian belief, St. Peter was buried. Commissioned by Pope Julius II in the 16th century, you can admire Michelangelo's Pietà, Bernini's Baldachin, and the tombs of St. Peter.

You will be enchanted by the enormous size of the building and the ceilings entirely covered in gold.

Descend beneath the Basilica of San Pietro, three meters underground, and visit the Papal Caves, where hundreds of popes and members of the royal family have been buried since the 11th century.
